"Its a blog about nothing!"

You know what I really suck at? Don't everyone rush to retrieve an answer from cache. I am awful at writing with any type of consistency. Its like listening to myself on tape....I loathe the sound of my own voice, and cant bear to read my own writing. So when it comes down to blogging, I am either at a loss for what to write, and if I do manage to bang out a few lines, then its a hodge-podge of shallow nothings. Sigh. Mad props to my dad for f-ing up my confidence. Can you send therapist bills to a dead person?

TFS Presentation at the Orlando SQL Server User Group (OPASS)

Port Orange, FL -

Presented at OPASS ( http://www.opass.org/ ) on August 15 in Altamonte Springs, FL. I am a huge fan of OPASS. Andy Warren and Jack Corbett run a great user group, and it was a privilege to speak in front of the group. The topic was "Team Foundation Server for the DBA", but I went around the far-end of the barn in laying out information about the architecture and installation options of TFS. Definitely need to make the presentation more concise as I head off to Jacksonville Code Camp ( http://www.jaxcodecamp.com/ ) on August 28.

Please check out the OPASS website for information on future meetings ( http://www.opass.org/ ) , and check out Jacksonville Code Camp also - its a great event, lots of free training and networking opportunities.

TFS Presentation at the Jacksonville DOT.NET User Group

June 3, 2010, Port Orange, FL.
Spoke at JAXDUG tonight- "VS2010 Team Foundation Server: Overview" - Great turn out and great feedback- enjoyed it a lot. Bayer White (FlowFocus- http://www.flowfocus.com) and Brandy Kerby (SNI Technologies) always do a wonderful job coordinating these events.

With over 30 JAXDUG members in attendance, there was some solid Q/A and interest in several topics - here are just a few – I will track the questions down, please check back for the answers.
  • What is a TFS project collection and who are collections used?
  • What are the requirements for connecting VS2008 to TFS2010?
  • What are the capabilities of Team Web Access?
  • Lots of questions about TFS permissions!

Please join and get involved with JAXDUG (www.jaxdug.com). JAX Code Camp is coming up on August 28th, 2010, please stay tuned for more information.
